CURE is proud to partner up with various organizations on campus and around South Florida to give our members opportunities for volunteering, community service, and clinical exposure events. Some of these include:
-Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) events: Our members have access to events hosted by FIU's HWCOM. Examples include health fairs, physician lectures, research seminars, to name a few.
-STEM Saturdays: CURE members travel to underserved communities on the first Saturday of every month to perform science experiments with children and lead by example, proving that minorities belong in the STEM field.
-Radio Lollipop at Nicklaus Children's Hospital: A non-profit program in Nicklaus Children's Hospital where our members help provide play, entertainment, comfort and care for hospitalized children.
-Lotus House Women's Shelter: A non-profit program inside Lotus House Women's Shelter where our members engage in arts and crafts with the children at this shelter.
-Child Life at Holtz Children's Hospital: A non-profit program inside Holtz Children's Hospital where our members engage in arts and crafts with hospitalized children.
-Camillus House and Chapman Partnership: Our volunteers frequently spend their Sundays serving food to poor and homeless individuals in Miami-Dade County.
-Relay for Life: Our biggest fundraiser of the year, it is an FIU event dedicated to honoring cancer victims, survivors and their caregivers. CURE helps raise money throughout the school year in the hopes of one day finding a cure for cancer.
-Mission Trips: We coordinate mission trips to several countries in South America, with companies such as MedX, Jose's Hands, and Blue Missions.
-Test Prep: We partner up with Kaplan Test Prep, The Princeton Review, and CLUTCH to offer our members free mock exams and discounted study materials.
-Intramural Sports: CURE members are athletic too! In fact, we are 3x defending intramural soccer champions. Go CURE!
